I’m Peter Norris, a partner at George Murray Shipley Bell, LLP. I act for people buying and selling homes in London and the surrounding area, for families putting their wills and estates in order, and for owner-managed businesses. I also have an office in Sarnia and act for clients across Southwestern Ontario.
Most legal work of this kind is not complicated so much as consequential. A purchase closes once. A will is read once. My job is to make sure it is done properly the first time, and that you are told plainly what is happening and what it means.

I handle your file with a team of law clerks. You are told at the outset who is working on your matter and how to reach them.
You will hear about problems early

Title defects, missing discharges and lender conditions are far easier to fix three weeks before closing than three days before. I review files on the way in, not on the way out.
You will get an answer you can act on

I give advice in plain terms, with the commercial trade-offs set out, so that the decision remains yours.

Whether your matter starts in London or Sarnia, the same people handle it under the same file. Most documents can be signed by video and electronic signature, and if something must be signed in person, you are told at the outset.
For realtors and mortgage brokers
